Bridgewater College seeks an Assistant Professor of Physics for a non-tenure track position beginning August 2012 to be renewed annually by mutual consent.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at all levels of an undergraduate physics curriculum, be prepared to conduct research that involves undergraduates, and be willing to teach courses offered in the general education program of the College.  We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in experimental or applied physics areas such as instrumentation or optics.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in physics or other closely related field such as applied physics or astronomy is required.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching undergraduates and in involving them in research.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College is an independent, private liberal arts college founded in 1880. Located only two hours southwest of the Washington, D.C. metro area, Bridgewater has a total enrollment of more than 1650 students representing 24 states and five countries. Bridgewater admitted women from the time of its founding and was the first private liberal arts college in Virginia to do so.
