So you think you want to be a Doctor? Bridgewater College has an excellent pre-medical preparation program. The percentage of our applicants that get into Medical School has always been very high. But, to become a Doctor, it takes a lot of work, much persistence, and a commitment which must be total.

- AMCAS - This is the where the application process starts. Medical Schools require this as a preliminary application. You submit the application to AMCAS, and they will forward it to the Medical Schools you list. Then, the Medical Schools will send you a secondary application for admission into their respective school.
- AAMC - Medical education alphabetical listing of Medical Schools
- MCAT - this is the test you must take as a part of the process of applying to most Medical Schools. The score on this test is weighed as one of the factors under consideration for Admission.

Medical Technology Careers
Medical Technology is a career that many of our graduates have pursued. Look at the information about this "major" under Programs. What follows are some links that relate to careers that could come out of this kind of a preparation. Typically, the Medical Technologist is part of the team of Heath professionals in all hospitals and Medical centers. They perform routine tests required by physicians to help in diagnosis.
Veterinary Medicine Careers
Those interested in Veterinary Medicine should be in touch with Dr. Mike Hensley, who is an excellent advisor on this particular career. The preparation for Vet School, in so far as course work is concerned, is the same as the "pre-med" curriculum. You would want to add some specific courses that might be helpful, as well as be sure you are in touch with what the Vet Schools are requiring in terms of voluntarism, internships, etc.
