Dr. Mike Hensley, Jopson Professor of Biology
Dr. Hensley came to Bridgewater in 1986 and is Chairman of the Department. He received the B.S. from Bridgewater College; the M.S. from James Madison University and the Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Hensley teaches courses in Entomology, Cell Biology, Embryology, and Forest and Wildlife Management. His research interests involve field studies of predator-prey and parasite-host relationships, and his current focus is on the effects of botfly parasitism on the reproductive success of rodent hosts. Dr. Hensley lives adjacent to Shenandoah National Park, which is where he conducts research on the life cycles of various insects.
