Dr. Robyn Puffenbarger, Associate Professor of Biology
Dr. Robyn A. Puffenbarger started at Bridgewater in 2001. She received her Bachelor's of Science in biology from Virginia Tech in 1991. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and immunology at the Medical College of Virginia in 1999 with a dissertation titled, "Cannabinoids inhibit inducible cytokine expression from rat microglial cells." After MCV, she did post-doctoral research at the State University of New York at Stony Brook from 1999-2001. Robyn teaches biochemistry at Bridgewater and loves bird-watching and Frisbee golfing. Her current areas of research include understanding the expression patterns of fatty acid amide hydrolase and the cannabinoid receptors.
