Graduate School

Very few incoming freshmen come to Bridgewater thinking about Graduate School. However, as events unfold and goals become more specific, this option is taken seriously by many of our students. The goal of graduate work is to prepare you for careers at the level of teaching in a College or Universisty, or to go into industry. It is important that you think through these options with your advisor, or with any other member of the department. Students ought to enter graduate school for a specific reason, not because there is "nothing else to do."

The course preparation would be identical to the pre-med curriculum. If possible, you would want to take one or more independent study courses, and pursue research projects as much as possible.

Bridgewater College has a large number of graduates who have gone on to Graduate School. This is a surprisingly large number given the small size of the College. Recent graduates are either attending, or have completed their studies from schools such as Penn State University, Johns Hopkins University, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest University.
