Kevin Clouther received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers' Workshop where he completed his thesis under Pulitzer Prize winning author Marilynne Robinson. His areas of academic interest include composition, American literature, and creative writing. Before joining the Bridgewater faculty in 2004, Professor Clouther taught at Wayne State University, the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs and, with Professor O'Mara, the Society for Values in Higher Education.
Although Professor Clouther reviews contemporary works and contributed to the 8th edition of the Brief English Handbook, his writing is primarily dedicated to fiction. His stories have appeared in or are forthcoming from The Gettysburg Review, Gulf Coast, Hayden's Ferry Review, The Madison Review, Puerto Del Sol, and other journals. Algonquin Books will publish his first collection of stories in 2007 with a novel to follow.
