Facilities for Health and Exercise Science
Nininger Hall This building contains classrooms, athletic training and physiology laboratories, swimming pool that boasts a movable floor (depth) to accommodate the physically disabled, and athletic facilities. It is the primary site for classrooms and formalized laboratory instruction.Formally known as Alumni Gymnasium, Nininger Hall was named for R. Douglas Nininger, longtime chairman of the Board of Trustees, his wife and other members of his family. The building was erected in 1957-58 and was extensively remodeled in 1979-80. Funkhouser Center for Health and Wellness This 34,000 square-foot health and wellness center opened in August 2001. The facility contins two 50' x 84' basketball courts, a 50' x 94' basketball court, two volleyball courts, a jogging/walking track, a cardiac center, two racquetball courts and a multipurpose space used for aerobics. The Bridgwater College Health Services Center is located in this building. The facility houses a classroom for all upper level athletic training courses and is also the site of two practicum experiences for the allied health science majors. Jopson Complex The athletic fields associated with the Jopson Complex are the sites for practical applications for the athletic training majors. A person interested in coaching or teaching specific sports or skills can participate in or observe successful Division III intercollegiate activities on a daily basis. |
