Symphonic Band Upcoming Concerts:
  • Sunday February 24th 3pm in the Carter Center

    An afternoon concert, featuring a varied program of symphonic band literature and transcriptions. The program will consist of:

    Holst's First Military Suite in E flat
    Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man
    Albanian Dance by Hanson Where Never Lark or Eagle Flew by Curnow
    Come Sunday by Ellington
    Little Fugue by Bach
    Bridgewater Breeze by Gorb

  • Tuesday April 22nd, 8pm in the Carter Center- The final concert for the year

    The program will include music by Hans Zimmer, Frank Ticheli, John Barnes Chance and more. A special guest is also planned. More information to come!
    Symphonic Band Information:

    Description: 50 to 70 players. This group specializes in traditional and modern music for large wind and percussion ensemble, symphonic transcriptions, and original works for band.

    Meeting times: Tuesday and Thursday from 4:45-6:00pm.

    Prerequisite: Students must have played in their high school band or ensemble. Home-schooled students must have had private lessons or other performance experience on their instrument.

    TO JOIN: Contact your advisor and register for course number MUS 443 (.05 credits). Students with a full credit load should contact Dr. Timothy Weir at tweir@bridgewater.edu.
