K. Gary Adams, Professor of Music, has taught courses in music history, music literature, music appreciation, and counterpoint at Bridgewater College since 1982. A musicologist, he has written both books and articles since coming to Bridgewater. His book William Schuman: A Bio-Bibliography was published in 1998 by Greenwood Press as Volume 67 in Greenwood's Bio-Bibliographies in Music series. In 1989, Claudio Monteverdi: A Guide to Research, a book co-authored with Dyke Kiel, was issued by Garland Publishing as Volume 23 in the Garland Composer Research Manuals series. He also contributed fifty biographical articles to Hymnal Companion, published by the Brethren Press in 1996. Articles by Adams have appeared in such publications as the Journal of Band Research and The Choral Journal. From 1972 to 1978, he assisted Cecil Adkins in the publication of Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology and International Works in Progress.
