Professor Richard Adams
Richard Adams, Instructor in Music, has a Bachelor of Music Education and Masters of Education Degrees from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. He has been instructor of guitar at Bridgewater College since 1993 and Blue Ridge Community College since 1999. He served as elementary and high school Band Director and School Counselor from 1981 - 1992 in Augusta County, VA.
Richard Adams, instructor of music, has a Bachelor of Music Education degree and Masters of Education Degree from James Madison University. He teaches guitar, low brass and some small ensembles at Bridgewater. He is a former high school band director and school counselor. In addition to teaching at Bridgewater College, Mr. Adams is a free-lance musical performer on multiple instruments throughout the Shenandoah Valley. He has also won numerous awards for writing historical musical plays about the Shenandoah Valley. Recently, he won the Dawbarn Award for Educational Excellence and was named “Educator of the Year” by the Augusta Historical Society. Mr. Adams owns and runs Happy Healthy Kid Songs, a company that produces media and school programs for children and is Past President of the Staunton-Augusta Rotary Club and Central Valley Counselor’s Association.
