Dr. Barber teaches applied bassoon.
Dr. Barber is on the faculty of the New England Music Camp in Sidney, Maine. Her principal teachers include William Ludwig, Stephen Maxym and Frank Wangler. She has been assistant principal bassoon of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and principal bassoon of the Natchez Opera in addition to holding positions with the Hartford Symphony, Connecticut Opera, Sarasota Opera, Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia (Spain), Acadiana Symphony and Soni Fidelis Woodwind Quintet. She has also appeared with the New Haven Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, National Repertory Orchestra, New World Symphony and participated in the Banff and Sarasota chamber music festivals. She recently performed at the 1999 International Double Reed Society Convention in Madison, Wis.
