Sociology majors are encouraged to develop the kind of broad foundation that makes for excellence in teaching, the legal professions, family and human relations work, management and public relations, civil service, social work, counseling, conflict resolution and mediation, criminal justice professions, urban and rural development, social research and data analysis, gerontology, anti-poverty programs, recreation, and a variety of international and cross-cultural fields.
