Bridgewater College was picked to finish fourth in the ODAC women’s cross country preseason coaches’ poll released Tuesday.Washington and Lee University earned 79 total points and seven first place votes as the coaches tabbed the Generals to win their fifth straight women’s cross country title. Roanoke College (68 point) and Lynchburg College (67 points) are separated by only one point for second and third, respectively, with each garnering one top vote. Picked to finish behind BC were Virginia Wesleyan in fifth followed by Eastern Mennonite, Guilford, Randolph and Emory & Henry. |

The Bridgewater College women's cross country team placed fifth out of nine teams at the ODAC Championship meet held Saturday at Washington & Lee.Brittany Wells led the Eagles with a 12th-place finish in a time of 25:31.67. Wells was named to the All-ODAC second team. Erim Murphy was next for the Eagles in 36th place (28:32.64), followed by Chelsea Goss in 40th (28:53.83), Aimee Murphy in 45th (29:15.77) and Stacey DeHaven is 57th (31:10.59). Washington & Lee Kat Telfeyan placed first to help lead the Generals to the team title as they edged Roanoke by one point. Telfeyan was named ODAC Runner of the Year. Lynchburg's Jennie Pernisi was named the Rookie of the Year. W&L's Becca Taylor was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Kris Hoey was named the Coach of the Year. [Championship Website]. |

The Bridgewater men's cross country team placed 13th out of 23 teams Saturday at the New York Invitational.Natham Rittenhouse paced the Bridgewater effort as he placed 15th out of 238 runners with a time of 26:58. Teammate Brandon Spalding also turned in a strong run as he placed 21st with a time of 27:09.02 The Bridgewater women finished in 20th place out of 22 teams. The Bridgewater College men’s cross country team placed third out of seven teams Saturday at the W&L Invitational while the women finished sixth out of 12 teams. Washington & Lee won the men’s meet and Roanoke College finished second. Nathan Rittenhouse and Brandon Spalding turned in solid individual efforts, finishing the meet in second and third place. Rittenhouse placed second with a time of 29:18 just one second ahead of Spalding. In the women’s meet, Brittany Wells led the Eagles with a 16th-place finish. Wells finished with a time of 26:16.
