  • Eagles receive votes in Division III poll - 09/27/2008

  • Kinder winnersThe Bridgewater College golf team received 23 points this week in the Golf World/Nike Division III Coaches Top 25.

    The Eagles are one of four ODAC teams receiving mention in the poll. Guilford is ranked No 11 and Washington and Lee checks in at No. 24. Hampden-Sydney joined the Eagles in the others receiving votes list as the Tigers received six points in the poll. [Division III Top 25 Poll]
  • Eagles win Tom Kinder Memorial - 09/21/2008

  • golflogoThe Bridgewater College Eagles golf team won its second straight tournament of the fall season by besting 11 other teams at the Tom Kinder Memorial tournament at Lakeview Golf Course.

    The Eagles fired a team score of 294 Sunday to go with a first round 292 to pull away for an 11-stroke victory. Randolph-Macon College placed second and Roanoke College took third.

    Bridgewater placed four golfers in the top nine to dominate the field. Mike Redwood tied for the lowest round on Sunday with a 2-under 70 and finished with a 144 total, good for second place.

    John Phillips placed third at 145 and Nick Dean finished fifth at 147. David Wellman tied for eighth at 150.

    Randolph-Macon's Ralston King finished at 5-under par for the tournament to take medalist honors.
  • Eagles lead Kinder Memorial - 09/20/2008

  • golflogoBridgewater College holds a six-stroke lead after the opening round of the Tom Kinder Memorial played Saturday at Lakeview Golf Course.

    The Eagles shot a team score of 292 to take the first-round lead. Randolph-Macon is in second-place while Roanoke and Virginia Wesleyan are tied for third place, 15 shots behind the Eagles.

    Nick Dean led the Eagles with a first-round 72, good for third place. John Phillips and David Wellman are tied for fourth at 73 and Mike Redwood is tied for eighth after a 74.

    Randolph-Macon's Max Wyndorf shot a 5-udner par 67 to hold the individual lead and his teammate Ralston King finished with a 69 and is all along in second.

    Sunday's final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

  • Eagles set to host Tom Kinder Memorial - 09/17/2008

  • golflogoThe Bridgewater College golf team will host the Tom Kinder Memorial tournament this Saturday and Sunday at the Lakewview Golf Course.

    The Eagles, fresh off a 3-stroke victory at the Ted Keller Invitational to open the fall season, will host 11 other schools this weekend.

    Scheduled to compete along with BC are Bluefield, Ferrum, Lynchburg, Marymount, Muhlenberg, Newport News Apprentice, Randolph-Macon, Roanoke, Shenandoah, Stevenson and Virginia Wesleyan.
  • Dean named ODAC Golfer of the Week - 09/15/2008

  • golflogoBridgewater College sophomore Nick Dean has been named the ODAC Golfer of the Week by the conference office.

    Dean finished second in the individual standings at the Ted Keller Invitational. He finished with rounds of 71 and 75 for a 146 total, finishing two strokes behind the medalist.

    Dean’s effort helped lead the Eagles to the team championship in BC's first tournament of the season.
  • BC golfers win Ted Keller tournament - 09/14/2008

  • golflogoBridgewater College shot a score of 304 in round two Sunday to hold off Greensboro College by three strokes and win the Ted Keller Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College at Hunting Hawk Golf Club.

    The Eagles opened the tournament with a 292 in the first round and that provided enough cushion to hold off Greensboro. The Pride shot the best round on Sunday with a 297.

    Nick Dean posted a 75 Sunday and finished with a two-day total of 146 to finish second overall. Dean finished two shots behind Greensboro medalist Brock Elder.

    BC’s Michael Hankins tied for third overall with a two-day score of 148. Mike Redwood placed 15th with a 153 score and Aaron German was another stroke back in 16th place.
  • Eagles hold lead at Ted Keller tourney - 09/13/2008

  • golflogoThe Bridgewater College Eagles hold a 9-stroke lead after Saturday's opening round of the Ted Keller Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College at Hunting Hawk Golf CLub.

    The Eagles finished the first day with a team score of 292, 8-over par.

    Bridgewater's Nick Dean shot an even par 71 to hold a one-shot lead over a group of three golfers. Bridgewater teammate Michael Hankins is part of the group tied for second.

    Mike Redwood shot a 73 and is tied for fifth while John Phillips is tied for sixth with a 78.

    Christopher Newport is second at 301 with Greensboro another shot back in the 12-team tournament.
  • Redwood finished fourth at ODAC tournament - 04/22/2008

  • Shawn HarperBridgewater College’s Mike Redwood shot a final round 76 Monday to finish fourth at the ODAC Golf Championship played at Poplar Grove Golf Course.

    Redwood finished with a three-day total of 225 three shots behind individual medalist Nathaniel James of Washington & Lee.

    As a team, the Eagles posted a 313 on the final day of competition and finished in seventh place.

    W&L won the team title and claimed the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with a three-day total 909. Guilford finished in second place, 10 strokes behind the Generals.

    Redwood was named to the all-tournament team and also received All-ODAC honorable mention.

    BC senior Shawn Harper was named to the All-ODAC first team. Harper finished the year with a 76.8 scoring average.

    Bridgewater’s Adam Rhodes and Guilford’s Brian Creghan were named Sportsmen of the Year.

    W&L’s James was named the ODAC Player of the Year and the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar Athlete of the Year. W&L’s Gavin Colliton was named the ODAC Coach of the Year and Randolph-Macon’s Michael Shrader was named Rookie of the Year.
  • Redwood fourth at ODAC tournament - 04/21/2008

  • golflogoBridgewater's Mike Redwood fired one of Sunday's best rounds to move into fourth place at the ODAC Men's Golf Championship at Poplar Grove Golf Club.

    Redwood finished with a 71 Sunday for a two-day total of 149. Redwood is four strokes behind individual leader Nathaniel James of W&L. James turned in the best round Sunday with a 70.

    The Eagles continued to struggle as a team, shooting a 314 Sunday to drop to seventh place with a 639 total. BC is just 11 strokes behind third-place teams Randolph-Macon and Hampden-Sydney.

    W&L holds a commanding 28-shot lead over Guilford College in the team standings.
  • Golfers struggle in first round at ODAC tourney - 04/19/2008

  • golflogoThe Bridgewater College golf team was in sixth place at the ODAC Golf Championships after Saturday's first-round at Poplar Grove Golf Club.

    Washington & Lee led after Round 1 with a 302 total followed by Hampden-Sydney at 310, Roanoke with a 320, Guilford with a 321, Randolph-Macon at 323 and the Eagles at 325.

    Virginia Wesleyan with a 330 total and Emory & Henry with a 394 rounded out the first-day standings.

    Sunday's second round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
  • Eagles placed third at W&L tournament - 04/14/2008

  • Shawn HarperThe Bridgewater College golfers placed third in the 36-hole Washington & Lee Buck Leslie Invitational played Monday at the Lexington Country Club.

    Longwood won the tournament with rounds of 286 and 295 for a total of 581, three strokes ahead of the W&L "Blue" team.

    Bridgewater put together rounds of 308 and 300 for a 608 total. Finishing behind the Eagles were Lynchburg, W&L "White", Southern Virginia and Emory & Henry.

    Shawn Harper finished with rounds of 77 and 69 to lead the Eagles with a 146 total. Harper placed fifth in the individual standings.

    Adam Rhodes placed 10th overall with rounds of 78 and 73 for a 151 total.

    Rounding out the BC scoring were: Nick Dean, 76-79 - 155; Mike Redwood, 77-79 - 156 and Aaron Whalen, 86-83 - 169.
  • Golfers place third at Marlin Invitational - 03/03/2008

  • golflogo The Bridgewater College golf team placed third out of 12 teams at the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan College at the Virginia Beach National Golf Course.

    Shawn Harper shots 79 in each round to finish at 158 and tied for sixth overall. Mike Hankins shot 160 followed by Nick Dean at 162, Mike Redwood at 169 and Adam Rhodes at 174.

    Christopher Newport won the tournament with a two-day total of 919. Randolph-Macon was second at 634 and the Eagles were third at 649.

    Bridgewater is back in action on March 21-23 at the Golden isle Invitational at Jekyll Island, Ga.
  • Golfers struggle at Pine Needles - 02/27/2008

  • golflogo The Bridgewater College golf team struggled at the Pine Needles Invitational, posting rounds of 324 and 329 to place 1oth in the 10-team event.

  • Shawn HarperThe Bridgewater College golf team received six votes in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Top 25 poll released Thursday.

    During the fall season, Bridgewater won the Tom Kinder Memorial and the State Intercollegiate titles.

    The Eagles open their spring season at the Pine Needles Invitational on Feb. 25-26.

    Four ODAC schools received votes in the Division III poll. Guilford is ranked No. 7 in the poll and Washington & Lee is ranked No. 23. Hampden-Sydney received 12 votes and the Eagles six. [Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches poll]
  • Ruckman makes professional debut - 11/02/2007

  • Grady RuckmanBridgewater College graduate Grady Ruckman made his professional golf debut this week on the Bridgestone Winter Series tour in Central Florida.

    The tournaments are played Tuesday-Thursday with the cut coming after 36 holes.

    The top 40 and ties made the cut with Ruckman making the cut on the line in his first event. A total of 52 golfers made the cut with Ruckman finishing in a tie for 44th place. He earned $600 in his first event. The tournament was played at the LPGA International Champions course in Daytona Beach.

  • Eagles win State Intercollegiate title - 10/15/2007

  • statesBridgewater College shot an even par 288 Monday to hold off Hampden-Sydney to win the Virginia State Intercollegiate championship at Nansemond River Golf Club.

    The Eagles entered the second round with a two-stroke lead over Hampden-Sydney and finished with a two-stroke lead as the Tigers matched BC’s 288 on Monday. Bridgewater finished with a two-day total of 579.

    Colten Ray, Mike Redwood and David Wellman each finished with a two-day score of even par 144 to tie for third place in the individual standings. Shawn Harper finished the tournament at 147 to tie for ninth place.

    Hampden-Sydney's Bob Boykin shot a 5-under, 67 Monday to win indiviudal honors with a two-day score of 139.

    Rounding out the top five were Randolph Macon in third at 590 followed by Christopher Newport at 598 and Shenandoah with a 622.

    Roanoke was sixth with a score of 624 followed by Virginia Wesleyan at 626, Newport News Apprentice at 629, Randolph-Macon B at 629, Lynchburg at 639, Marymount at 651 and Ferrum at 683.
  • Eagles hold lead at state tournament - 10/14/2007

  • golflogoThe Bridgewater College golf team shot a 3-over par 291 Sunday to take the first round lead at the Virginia State Intercollegiate tournament at Nansemond River Golf Club.

    All four BC counters finished in the Top 10 during Sunday's first round. David Wellman was the only golfer under par as he shot a 1-under 71 to hold a one shot lead over four other golfers.

    Teammates Colten Ray and Mike Redwood were tied for sixth, two strokes back at 73. Shawn Harper was another stroke back at 74 and tied for ninth.

    Hampden-Sydney finished the first round in second place at 292, two strokes behind the Eagles. Christopher Newport shot a 297 to finish six strokes off the lead.
  • Golfers place 13th at Greensboro - 10/03/2007

  • golflogoThe Bridgewater golf team placed 13th out of 18 teams at the Greensboro Invitational.

    The Eagles were led by freshman Mike Redwood who finished with a two-day total of 154 to tie for 27th in the 90-player field. Shawn Harper and Colten Ray each finished at 157 while David Wellman shot 159 and Nick Dean finished with a 163.

  • Shawn HarperBridgewater College senior Shawn Harper has been named ODAC Golf of the Week by the conference office.

    Harper shot a 3-under par 141 to claim medalist honors and lead the Bridgewater College Eagles to the team title at the Tom Kinder Memorial golf tournament hosted by the Eagles at Lakeview Golf Course.

    Harper shot a two-under 70 on the first day to lead the Eagles to a school record score of 288. He then shot a 71 in Day 2 to edge teammate Colten Ray by one shot for medalist honors.
  • Eagles win Kinder Memorial tournament - 09/23/2007

  • Kinder Memorial Tourn. WinnersThe Bridgewater College golf team backed up a school record 288 in the opening round Saturday with a solid 299 Sunday to pull away for a 17-shot victory at the Tom Kinder Memorial tournament hosted by the Eagles at Lakeview Golf Cuurse.

    The Eagles led by just four strokes entering the second round, but Randolph-Macon was unable to keep pace, shooting a 312 on Sunday to finish at 604.

    Lynchburg placed third, followed by the Bridgewater B team, Roanoke, Muhlenberg, Shenandoah, Marymount, Apprentice School, Virginia Wesleyan, Villa Julie, Ferrum and Emory & Henry.

    Bridgewater senior Shawn Harper finished 3-under for the tournament after posting a 1-under-par 71 Sunday. Harper edged his teammate Colten Ray by one stroke for medallist honors.

    Adam Rhodes and Michael Redwood tied for 10th place as each finished with a 152 total. David Wellman finished the tourney at 164.

    The B team was paced by Nick Dean who shot even par for the tournament to finish fourth overall. Greyson Hurt shot 156, followed by Aaron Whalen at 159, Michael Hankins at 161 and Jordan Hardy at 171.
  • Golfers lead Kinder tourney with record 288 score - 09/22/2007

  • Shawn HarperThe Bridgewater College “A” team shot a school record 288 Saturday at the Lakeview Golf Course to hold a four-shot lead over Randolph-Macon at the Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament.

    Senior Shawn Harper carded a 2-under par 70 to hold a one-stroke lead after Round 1.

    Four golfers are tied at 71, one shot behind Harper. The group includes Harper’s teammate Colten Ray and Bridgewater “B” team member Nick Dean. Randolph-Macon’s Ralston King and Lynchburg’s Michael Butzgy also shot 71.

    Michael Redwood posted a 72 and Adam Rhodes added a 75 to round out the Eagles’ “A” team scoring.

    The Bridgewater “B” team finished with a 310 total and is tied for fifth place in the 12-team field.
  • Eagles set to host Kinder Memorial golf tournament - 09/21/2007

  • golflogoBridgewater College will host the Tom Kinder Memorial golf tournament this Saturday and Sunday at the Lakeview Golf Course.

    The Eagles will welcome 11 other teams to the tournament. Participating teams in addition to Bridgewater are Emory & Henry, Ferrum, Lynchburg, Marymount, Muhlenberg, Newport News Apprentice School, Randolph-Macon, Roanoke, Shenandoah, Villa Julie and Virginia Wesleyan.

    The first tee time for Saturday is set for 9 a.m. Newport News Apprentice, Marymount and Virginia Wesleyan will be the first teams to tee off Saturday. At 9:40 a.m.. the Bridgewater A team, Randolph-Macon and Muhlenberg will begin their tee times. Roanoke, Lynchburg and Ferrum are set to tee off beginning at 10:28. The final four team – Villa Julie, Emory & Henry, Shenandoah and Bridgewater B team will begin their rounds at 11:08.

    Sunday an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start will be used. The awards ceremony will follow completion of play Sunday and is tentatively set to start at 1 p.m.

  • Eagles finish fifth at Ted Keller - 09/16/2007

  • BC golf logoThe Bridgewater College golf team finished with a round of 313 Sunday to place fifth at the Ted Keller Invitational played at Hunting Hawk Golf Club.

    Hampden-Sydney posted a score of 292 Sunday to win the 12-team tournament with a two-day total of 597. Wesley finished second at 611, followed by Washington & Lee at 614, Randolph-Macon at 616 and Bridgewater at 617.

    Colten Ray paced the Eagles with a two-day total of 151. Shawn Harper carded a 154 followed by Nick Dean at 155 and Adam Rhodes at 157.

  • Eagles in second at Ted Keller Invitational - 09/15/2007

  • BC golf logoThe Bridgewater College golf team opened its season Saturday at the Ted Keller Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College at Hunting Hawk Golf Club.

    Bridgewater shot a team score of 304 during Saturday's first round, three shots behind tournament leader Washington & Lee in the 12-team tournament. The Eagles are one stroke ahead of both Hampden-Sydney and Wesley heading into Sunday's final round.

    Shawn Harper and Colten Ray each shot an opening-round 75 to pace the Eagles. Nick Dean carded a 76 and Adam Rhodes finished with a 78 to round out the Bridgewater scoring.
  • Eagles earn postseason honors - 04/24/2007

  • Grady RuckmanBridgewater College placed three golfers on the All-ODAC for the 2006-07 season.

    Senior Grady Ruckman was named to tha All-ODAC first team. Ruckman was ranked fourth in the conference in scoring average at 74.6 strokes per round.

    Senior Andrew Bartley and junior Shawn Harper garnered second-team All-ODAC honors. Harper ranked seventh in the ODAC with a 75.3 scoring average while Bartley was ranked 12th at 76.3.
  • Eagles finish third at ODAC tournament - 04/24/2007

  • BC golf logoBridgewater College posted a third-round score of 313 Monday to finish the ODAC golf tournament in third place.

    Guilford won the three-day event with a team score of 873, 17 strokes ahead of second place Washington & Lee. It was another 17 strokes back to the Eagles in the third as Bridgewater finished with a 907 three-day score. Bridgewater was a solid third as fourth-place Hampden-Sydney trailed the Eagles by 26 strokes.

    Shawn Harper and Andrew Bartley posted Top 10 finishes to pace the Bridgewater effort. Harper finished sixth with a three-day total of 222 while Bartley was ninth at 225. Grady Ruckman tied for 16th at 231 and Adam Rhodes shot 236 to tie for 21st. Harper was named to the ODAC All-Tournament Team.

    Guilford's Colin Clark erased a seven-shot deficit with a final round 66 to pass his teammate Joseph Poplin for medalist honores. Clark shot rounds of 72-73-66 for a 211 total, three shots ahead of Poplin.

  • BC golf logoBridgewater College dropped to third place aftert the second round of the ODAC Golf Tournament at Poplar Grove golf course.

    The Eagles shot a 301 Sunday for a 594 total. W&L shot the best round of the day with a 287 to move 10 strokes ahead of the Eagles in second place. Bridgewater is solidly in third place, 24 strokes ahead of Hampden-Sydney.

    Guilford leads the tournament with a 577 total, seven strokes ahead of W&L.

  • BC golf logoThe Bridgewater College golf team is in second place after the opening round of the ODAC Golf Championship played Saturday at Poplar Grove golf course in Amherst.

    The Eagles shot a first day score of 293, 10 shots behind nationally-ranked Guilford.>br>
    BC placed three golfers in the top 13. led by Andrew Bartley. Bartley shot a two-under par 70 and is third overall behind Guilford teammates Joseph Poplin and Peter Latimer – the co-leaders at 68.

    Shawn Harper shot an even par-72 and is tied for fourth while Grady Ruckman is tied for 11th after shooting a 75.
  • Eagles second at W&L tournament - 04/17/2007

  • Grady RuckmanBridgewater College placed second at the Washington & Lee Buck Leslie Invitational played Monday at the Lexington Country Club.

    The five-team event, originally scheduled for 36 holes, was shortened to 27 holes due to the weather conditions. The Eagles finished with a team score of 461, two strokes behind Washington & Lee.

    Andrew Bartley led the Eagles with a 113 score. Bartley finished in second place, three shots behind medalist Trae Kresinke of Virginia Wesleyan.

    Grady Ruckman tied for sixth at 115 and Shawn Harper tied for eighth at 116. Adam Rhodes rounded out the BC scoring with a 117 to tie for 10th place. [Final Results]
  • Eagles win Shupbuilders Memorial - 04/10/2007

  • Grady RuckmanBridgewater College shot the lowest round of the second day with a 309 Tuesday to pull away for a nine-stroke victory at the Glen Heath Shipbuilders Memorial at Marsh Hawk Golf Course in Williamsburg.

    The Eagles finished with a two-day score of 621 to win the 14-team tournament. Pitt Community College placed second at 630.

    Grady Ruckman shot a second round 77 to finish at 152, two shots behind Pitt C.C.’s Ryan Campbell. Shawn Harper’s 76 was the best round of the day for the Eagles as he finished at 154 in a tie for seventh place. Andrew Bartley tied for 11th after his second day 78 left him at 156. Adam Rhodes also shot 78 and finished in a tie for 15th at 160. Aaron Whalen tied for 24th after a second-day 83 left him at 164. [Final Results]
  • BC leads Shipuilders tournament - 04/10/2007

  • BC golf logoBridgewater College holds a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Glen Heath Shipbuilders Memorial golf tournament played at the Marsh Hawk golf course in Williamsburg.

    The Eagles finished the opening round with a 312 total, one stroke better than Lynchburg College in the 14-team field.

    Grady Ruckman shot a first round 75 and is tied for third place, two shots behind the leader. Shawn Harper and Andrew Bartley each shot 78 and are tied for 12th. Andrew Whalen shot 81 and Adam Rhodes finished with an 82.
  • Golfers play at Camp LeJeune tournament - 04/02/2007

  • BC golf logoBridgewater College played at the 36th Annual Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate golf tournament this past weekend.

    The tournament was a three-day event featuring a tough field of 30 teams. The tournament is played over two courses – the Scarlet (par70, 6000 yards) and the Gold (par 72, 7000 yards) at Paradise Point Golf Course at the Marine Corps Camp LeJeune. All 30 teams played both courses over the first two days. On the third day, the top 16 teams played the Gold course and rest of the field played the Scarlet.

    After the first two rounds, the Eagles finished in 23rd place with a score of 588. Grady Ruckman shot rounds of 71-69 140 to tie for 12th in a field of 150 golfers. On the third day, the Eagles tied for the lowest score of the day with a 6-under 274 and finished in second place on the Scarlet side.

    Ruckman shot 66 on the final day for a three-day total of 206 to earn medalist honors on the Scarlet side. Colten Ray shot the low round of the third day with a 65. [Final Results]
  • Golfers place 15th at Jekyll Island - 03/25/2007

  • Grady RuckmanThe Bridgewater College golf team finished tied for 15th place at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.

    The Jekyll Island tournament annually draws the top Division III teams in the nation to the three-day event. The Eagles posted rounds of 307-309-308 to finish with a three-day score of 924.

    Five ODAC schools participated in the tournament with W&L finishing two strokes ahead of the Eagles in a tie for 11th and Randolph-Macon finishing 14th, one shot ahead of Bridgewater. Hampden-Sydney finished 19th in the 24-team field and Roanoke finished 20th.

    Grady Ruckman finished the three rounds at 7-over par to tie for 17th place out of 132 golfers. Shawn Harper tied for 23rd with rounds of 78-74-74.

    Methodist won the team title with a three-day score of 875. Oglethorpe’s Taylor Urbanski won individual honors with rounds of 72-71-70 to finish 30under par.
  • Golfers bounce back at Mid-Pines - 02/28/2007

  • BC golf logoThe Bridgewater College golfers rebounded from a tough first day with a solid second round at the Pfeiffer/Mid-Pines Invitational.

    The Eagles finished with a 305 total on the second day and placed 10th overall on the tournament with a 635 total.

    Grady Ruckman shot a 74 Tuesday to finish with a two-day total of 153 to lead the Eagles. Ruckman finished in a tie for 25th place. Adam Rhodes had the best round Tuesday with a 73 and finished with a two day score of 155. Other scores for the Eagles included Shawn Harper with a two-day total of 164, David Wellman at 166 and Andrew Bartley at 168.

    Methodist and Guilford tied for first place in the 13-team tournament with a two-day team total of 588 [Final Results]
  • Golfers struggle at Mid-Pines - 02/27/2007

  • BC golf logoThe Bridgewater College golf team struggled on the first day of the first annual Pfeiffer/Mid-Pines Invitational golf tournament Monday. The Eagles finished with a team score of 330 in the first round. Guilford, Pfeiffer and Methodist were tied atop the leaderboard with scores of 298.

    Grady Ruckman led the Eagles with a 79 on the par-72 course. Ruckman ranked No.33 overall. Adam Rhodes shot an 82, followed by David Wellman with an 83, Shawn Harper with an 86 and Andrew Bartley with an 88.

  • Golfers ranked nationally - 12/20/2006

  • Grady RuckmanAs the fall season came to an end, Eagle golfers found themselves ranked nationally in several statistical categories. Shawn Harper, junior from Verona, VA, is currently ranked first among all D-III golfers in Par- 5 scoring. Grady Ruckman, senior from Verona, VA is tied for fourth. In Par-3 scoring, Ruckman is ranked fourth, and senior Andrew Bartley of Staunton, VA is tied for eighth. In Sub-Par Strokes per Round, Ruckman is ranked fourth nationally, and Harper is tied for sixth.

    As a team, Bridgewater ranks first nationally in Sub-Par Strokes per Round, fourth in Par-3 scoring, and fifth in Par-5 scoring. Bridgewater is ranked 35th overall in the final Golfstat rankings of the fall.
  • Eagles fifth at VSGA state intercollegiate - 12/04/2006

  • Shawn HarperThe Eagles finished fifth at this year's VSGA State Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. The tournament was held 15-16 October at the Nansemond River GC in Suffolk, Va. The Eagles posted a score of 312+316=628. The tournament was won by Hampden-Sydney at 298+306=604.

    Bridgewater was led by Junior Shawn Harper, who shot 72+75=147. Harper finished in a tie for third place. Andrew Bartley shot 76+78=154. Billy McDonald of Roanoke College was the medalist at 142, the only player under par.
