Kathy Kerr, Head Coach
Kathy Kerr begins her third season as the head women's lacrosse coach at Bridgewater College.
After leading the Eagles to a 4-11 mark in her first season at the helm, Kerr guided the Eagles to an 8-8 record in 2007. Six of the team's top nine scorers are expected to return to the lineup for the 2008 season.
Prior to her arrival at Bridgewater College, Kerr was the head coach at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The lacrosse program showed improvement in each of Kerr's four seasons. Her first team finished with a 3-12 record. In her second year, the team finished 5-10, tying the college record for most wins in a season. The 2004 team posted the first winning record in college history at 8-6 and her last team finished 11-7 and qualified for the conference playoffs for the first time in college history.
Kerr's teams also displayed excellence in the classroom. In 2005, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association recognized her team as the top-ranked program in Division III with a 3.49 grade point average.
Kerr is a 1996 graduate of NCAA Division I Cornell University where she earned her degree in American Government and Southeast Asian Studies. Kerr continued her education at the University of Maryland where she earned a Master's degree in Sport Studies (Sociology of Sport).
Ally Kenyon, Assistant Coach
Allyson Kenyon returns to the lacrosse team for her fourth season as an assistant coach. Kenyon just completed her fifth fourth season as the head coach of the field hockey program this past fall.
Kenyon is a 2000 graduate of Juniata College where she earned a B.A. in politics. Kenyon continued her education at James Madison University where she earned a Master's degree in athletic administration.
A four-time varsity letter recipient in both field hockey and swimming at Juniata, Kenyon earned Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) All-Academic honors in both sports, and was twice named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic squad. She served as captain of the swim team for two seasons.
Prior to her coaching experience at Bridgewater, Kenyon was an associate in the Department of Governmental Affairs for the National Mental Health Association located in Washington, D.C. She was also the assistant girls' lacrosse coach at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA. |
