Benefits Health Insurance
The College's
group health plan is administered through Southern Health Services,
Inc. All fulltime employees are eligible for insurance on the first
day of the month after employment begins. If an employee begins
employment on the first day of the month, he/she is eligible for
coverage on that day. The College offers a choice of two Traditional
Health Plans and one Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) with a Health
Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). Employee's premiums are paid
through payroll deductions and may be tax-sheltered through our
Cafeteria Section 125 Plan.

Dental/Voluntary Vision Insurance
The College's
group dental and voluntary vision plan is administered through
Guardian. Eligibility is established in the same manner as for
health insurance. Employee's premiums are paid through payroll
deductions and may be tax-sheltered through our Cafeteria Section 125
Plan.

Flexible Spending Accounts
The College's
Flexible Spending Account is administered through LD&B Insurance
Agency. An FSA (also known as a Section 125 Plan or Cafeteria Plan)
gives preferential tax treatment to three types of expenses currently
paid "out-of-pocket" by employees: insurance premiums,
childcare and medical/dental/vision care. Flexible spending accounts
can save you 25-30% on your medical and childcare expenses. Examples
of medical expenses include: glasses, contact lenses and supplies,
eye exams, dental care, braces, co-pays on prescription drugs and
office visits.

Life Insurance
The College's
life insurance plan is administered through The Hartford Insurance
Company. The college funds 50% of the premium for basic life and
accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) and coverage is equal
to one and a half times the employee's salary, to a maximum of
$50,000. Eligibility is established in the same manner as for health
insurance.
Disability Insurance
The offers long-term
disability to its employees after they have completed 12 months of
employment and the plan is administered through The Hartford
Insurance Company. The disability plan is designed to protect
employees and their families from financial hardship caused by the
loss of income. The College funds 100% of the premium.
***The College
reserves the right to obtain competitive bids on all insurance plans
when renewing coverage effective July 1st of
each year. Therefore, the provider may change to another carrier or
third party administrator. ***
Retirement Plan
The retirement plan for
the College is administered through TIAA-CREF. Employees are
eligible immediately with no vesting and the college provides 3% of
annual salary to all employees and then matches the employee's
contribution up to an additional 3% of annual salary.

Optional Employee Paid Plans
Also offered through
payroll deduction are: supplemental life insurance for self, spouse
and children and long-term care insurance.
Tuition Remission
The College offers a
tuition remission benefit to eligible employees, their spouses and
dependents. Dependents may also be eligible for tuition exchange at
other colleges. Please see the Tuition Remission Policy in the
Employee Handbook for details.

Access to College Facilities and Events
There are many
facilities available to employees and family members such as the
Library, the Funkhouser Wellness Center, the pool, the Eagles Nest,
and the College cafeteria. There is also a wide array of cultural,
social, and athletic events such as speakers, plays, and concerts.
Employees are encouraged to take advantage of these activities.
