Your Financial Award Package

What is an Award Package?

An award package lists the grants, loans, and work programs that you have been awarded for the academic year at Bridgewater College.

Your package is based on the aid application you submitted for the academic year. By using your FAFSA analysis, we determine the types and amounts of grants, loans, and work programs in which you will be eligible to receive funding at Bridgewater College. This information will be sent to your home address.

Your award package will list standard tuition and fees, and room and board for resident students. It will provide an estimate of the amount you can expect to pay after financial aid.

Remember, the package is only as valid as the information you reported on your FAFSA. If corrections are made to that information, your aid eligibility can change also.

When Will I Receive my Package?

New Students

Award packages are sent to incoming students beginning March 15. In order for us to prepare your package,
  1. you must have been admitted to the College, and
  2. a valid analysis of your FAFSA must have been received in our office.
Packages are continually released after March 15 as new students are admitted and FAFSA analyses are received from the federal processor.

Returning Students

Returning students who
  1. have submitted a renewal FAFSA, and
  2. have paid a reservation deposit
receive their award packages beginning in June.

What will my Package Include?

Award packages include:

a personal award letter listing standard charges, financial aid, and estimated balance to be paid to the College
an individualized Checklist detailing specifics of the aid programs listed in the award letter and calling attention to items requiring further action from the student
information on the Parent PLUS loan and alternative loans for students
forms required for Verification (if applicable)

What Do I Do Next?

Return a signed copy of the award package to the Financial Aid Office by the deadline on the letter. Your acceptance tells us to hold these awards for you because you have decided or are seriously considering attending Bridgewater College. Signing your package does not commit you to attend Bridgewater.

If you do not want to take advantage of one of the programs listed on your award package, simply write "decline" beside the award and sign with your initials.

If you want to take advantage of the Federal Stafford or PLUS Loan options, follow the instructions included in your aid package.

Read the Checklist enclosed in your package for other instructions specific to your awards.

If you have not already done so, you should pay the Reservation Deposit to the Admissions Office to confirm your intent to enroll at Bridgewater.
