Air Conditioner Guidelines
These residence halls are centrally air-conditioned:
BLUE RIDGE (female), GEISERT (female), WAKEMAN (male),
APARTMENTS (upper classmen only)
If you will be living in a building without central air and require an air-conditioned environment due to medical reasons, fill out the Air Conditioner Request Form (see
Forms section), give it to your Medical Practitioner, and have him/her mail or fax a short explanation of why you must have an air conditioner in your room:

Requirements for air conditioners:
- Must be a small portable window unit
- Between 5000-8000 BTU's
- 115 volts
- Have a top window skirt (metal support to attach unit to window)
A FEE OF $50 PER SEMESTER PER ROOM WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR COLLEGE ACCOUNT FOR THE EXTRA SERVICE. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE FEE!
NOTE: Window air conditioners must be installed only by the maintenance and facilities crews. Improper installation may not only result in damage to the window and air conditioner, but may cause personal injury, as well. You will be notified when your completed request form is received and approved, and your A/C should be installed.
