What does the Service-Learning Center provide?

· The BC Service-Learning website at http://www.bridgewater.edu/StudentLife/Service-Learning with all the information and forms you need for a successful service-learning experience. Click the Student Life tab on the BC Home Page, scroll down, and click on the Service-Learning link

· The BC Community Service Directory with a listing of over 100 local community service agencies listed in 7 Program Areas, what they do, and how to get involved. Available on the BC Service-Learning website.

· The BC Community Service Fair in the Kline Campus Center on Wednesday, October 1 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon where representatives from local community service agencies will be available to provide information about their service needs and opportunities.

· The BC Student Service Board, a group of Student Service Coordinators that plan and provide service opportunities for the campus community in 7 Program Areas. Contact information on the BC Service-Learning website.

· PDP Service-Learning forms available in the SLC (Rebecca Hall 217) and on the BC Service-Learning website.

· Literature displays in the SLC with brochures from local service agencies and other service-learning information. Email service@bridgewater.edu or call 828-5383 to request specific information.

· The Community Service Board, located in the breezeway between the Kline Campus Center and Rebecca Hall, with updated postings of current service-learning opportunities.

· Assistance to faculty with identification and/or coordination of student placements for courses with service-learning components.

· Assistance with transportation to community service sites.

· SLC staff available to assist with individual questions, contacts, or concerns.

Where is the Service-Learning Center and who’s there to help?

The SLC is located on 2^nd floor of Moomaw Hall, Room 204 (accessible from the 2^nd floor of Rebecca Hall). The Service-Learning Center staff can answer questions, make suggestions, and provide resources for your service-learning and community service activities.
