Can I schedule a time to bring a class to the library?
There is a new information landscape and students need to learn how to navigate it.
In response to the growing need for information literacy, the Alexander Mack Library offers library instruction to equip students with the proper navigational tools for succesful research. The library works closely with faculty to design course specific instruction, available upon request:
- Step 1
Faculty member requests instruction sessions to assist students in successfully completing course assignments
- Step 2
A library staff member consults with the faculty member to design one or more instruction sessions that will provide students with:
- A list of library resources appropriate to the assignment
- A demonstration of the use of those resources
- Hands-on practice in using library resources, when time permits
- Step 3
Students complete an assessment of the class at the end of the session
To schedule an instruction session or request additional information, please contact Dale Harter by email, or phone (ext. 5457).
