Parking Rules

Students are responsible for being aware of all parking policies, and ignorance of these policies will not be considered a reason for appeal.

A zoning ordinance with the Town of Bridgewater places the College Campus in a College Campus Enclaves (CCE) Zone. Terms of the Zoning Ordinance “requires its students to refrain from parking on public streets in the Town except for occasional visits to other sites in Town.

The issuance of a campus-parking permit is conditional on agreement with the ordinance and this Student Parking Agreement. Parking permits can be revoked after 3 parking violations. As there are sufficient parking spaces on campus for all student vehicles, parking policies will be strictly enforced. All parking spaces on campus are within a reasonable distance from classroom buildings and student residence halls. To maintain orderly parking to best accommodate campus functions; the following guidelines are provided along with a campus parking map:


1.
ALL student’s vehicles SHALL display a current year decal on the outside left (driver’s side) rear window.


2.
Upper-class resident students may park in lots designated for resident parking which are Geisert lot (A), Heritage lot (C), Wakeman lot (B), Daleville lot (D), Dillon lot (D), the Carter Center (College Chapel) lot between the center island and Wright Hall (area L), areas E, F, and G behind the Kline Campus Center, Third Street across from Carter Center (J) and lot (M) located behind the McKinney Center. Parking is not permitted on any sidewalk or walkway.

All freshmen students must park either in the lot behind Geisert Hall (except next to the building), lot (M) located behind the McKinney Center. or in the lots behind the Kline Campus Center (but not in spaces adjacent to buildings). This is in lieu of lots specifically designated for upper-class students.


4.
Parking in the Bowman Lot, McKinney Hall Faculty Staff parking area, and the Cole Hall lot (the lot opposite Cole Hall and loading dock at KCC) is reserved for Faculty and Staff only. No student parking is permitted in any Faculty/Staff lot at any time. Vehicles parked in Faculty/Staff parking lots, not displaying a faculty/staff decal, will be towed. Parking is prohibited alongside any lane.


5. COMMUTER STUDENT parking is available in the Carter Center (College Chapel) Parking Lot areas K and the parking lot behind the KCC within areas E, F, and G. Commuter student parking is also permitted in the commuter parking lot located on E. College Street west of Flory Hall, along E. College St between Third St. and the entrance to the KCC lot, and lot (M) located behind the McKinney Center.


6. PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON ALL PUBLIC STREETS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF COMMUTER STUDENTS BEING ALLOWED TO PARK ON THE NORTH SIDE OF E. COLLEGE STREET BETWEEN THIRD STREET AND THE ENTRANCE TO THE KLINE CAMPUS CENTER. RESIDENT STUDENTS MAY NOT PARK ON E.COLLEGE STREET.


7. Resident students may not park in lots specifically assigned for commuters.


8. NO PARKING is in effect for ALL YELLOW CURB areas located on campus and/or the surrounding streets in residential areas within the College Campus Enclave (CCE). ALL WHITE CURB areas designated parking areas including parking for Residence Hall Directors – 24 HOURS A DAY.

All parking fines are to be paid at the Business Office within 30 days of receiving the violation. After 30 days an additional late fee will be assessed. PARKING PERMITS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.


10. Vehicles will be TOWED immediately if parked on GRASS anywhere on campus, in front of any DUMPSTER, LOADING DOCK, or any YELLOW CURB FIRE LANE AREAS. Resident student vehicles parked in areas designated for commuter students, faculty, or staff are also subject to towing.


11. Unregistered or illegally parked vehicles are subject to TOWING at the owner’s expense. Repeat violations will result in loss of parking privileges. Vehicles will be towed for failure to pay fines and will not be authorized to be released until all parking ticket fines have been paid TO THE BUSINESS OFFICE located in Flory Hall.


12. All appeals must be made in person at the Office of the Chief of Campus Police within SEVEN (7) days of the issuance of the parking ticket.


13.
For overnight guests or student vehicles temporarily on campus for a week or less, a temporary parking pass should be obtained from the Office of Campus Police or call #5609, 24 hours a day. The pass should be displayed as instructed .There is no charge for temporary parking passes.


14.
Replacement parking decals will only be issued upon receipt of the original decal. Pro-rated fees will be charged for lost decals..
