CAATE becomes Accreditor of Athletic Training Education Programs

On July 1, 2006, the Joint Review Committee fro Athletic Training (JRC-AT) legally separated from CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational programs), becoming the independent specialized accreditor for Athletic Training, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). All Athletic Training programs, formerly accredited by CAAHEP, were automatically accredited by CAATE, maintaining the same status and review cycles assigned previously under CAAHEP.
