Documentation Workshops

Workshops will cover:
MLA Format: In-text Citations, Notes, and Bibliographies; offered Mon., 9/24, 7-8 p.m.; Weds., 10/31, 4-5 p.m.
APA Format:
In-text Citations, Notes, and Bibliographies; offered Weds., 9/26, 4-5 p.m.; Thurs., 10/18, 4-5 p.m.
CMS Format:
In-text Citations, Notes, and Bibliographies; offered  Thurs., 11/1, 7-8 p.m.
Scientific Format: In-text Citations, Notes, and Bibliographies; offered
Weds., 10/17, 7-8 p.m. (Additional times will be scheduled if more workshops are needed.)
Paraphrasing and Quoting:
How to Avoid Plagiarizing; Integrating Material from Sources into Your Text; offered
Tues., 10/2, 4-5 p.m.; Thurs., 10/4, 7-8 p.m.
Documentation Questions and Answers: Bring your questions and problems for a workshop tailored to your problems with quoting, paraphrasing, citing sources, and formatting bibliographies; offered
Mon., 11/5, 7-8 p.m.; Tues., 11/6, 7-8 p.m.

Workshops will be offered in Bowman 310 or Bowman 301.

Students taking the workshop to fulfill a course requirement will be asked to consult a tutor for review of their use and citation of sources in their papers, or to write a short paper using sources made available by the workshop leader, to demonstrate their understanding of acceptable use of sources and documentation techniques.

Each workshop lasts approximately one hour, but participants are welcome to stay longer in the Writing Center and work on a writing project with a Writing Center staff member.
