Bridgewater College seeks an Assistant Professor of Information Systems for a fulltime tenure track position to begin August, 2014.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach a wide variety of information systems and/or computer science courses in an undergraduate curriculum. The topics of these courses may include database management, software engineering, data communications, scripting languages, and network security. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for the Information Systems Management major, but will also be expected to teach general education mathematics courses, serve on various committees, and advise students.
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in information systems or information technology is preferred. We are interested in candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching and a desire to explore innovative methods in learning and teaching. The successful candidate should also be willing to work with the other computer science faculty to redesign the Information Systems Management and Computer Science majors to better prepare our students for current job opportunities.
GENERAL INFORMATION: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has ten full-time faculty. Three majors are offered within the department: Computer Science, Information Systems Management, and Mathematics. The computer science major follows the recommendations of the ACM/IEEE-CS Curriculum 2001.
Bridgewater College is an independent, private liberal arts college founded in 1880. Located only two hours southwest of the Washington, D.C. metro area, Bridgewater has a total enrollment of approximately 1,850 students representing 28 states and 10 countries.
