SACS Documents Required
There are two documents that are submitted by Bridgewater College as part of the SACS Reaffirmation for Accreditation process: Compliance Certification and the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
What is the Compliance Certification document?
The Compliance Certification document, which will be submitted by Bridgewater College on March 1, 2011, is a response to how the institution is in compliance with Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards, and Federal Requirements. Each of these three areas contains requirements and statements to which Bridgewater College must write a documented narrative including substantial evidence that it is in compliance with each criteria or standard. The Core Requirements include 16 compliance requirement statements, the Comprehensive Standards include 59 compliance standard statements, and the Federal Requirements contain 7 compliance requirement statements.
What is the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which will be submitted in September 2011, is a document developed by Bridgewater College that (1) includes a broad-based institutional process identifying key issues emerging from institutional assessment, (2) focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution, (3) demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP, (4) includes broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP, and (5) identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement.
