Commencement Information for Seniors
Commencement is quickly approaching! Commencement events are being carefully planned in order to honor your achievements. Please be sure to check your Bridgewater email for important Commencement information and reminders over the next few months.
Please be advised, graduates who have reasons that will make it impossible for them to attend Commencement must present a written request/notification to the vice president and dean for academic affairs by Friday, April 12, 2013.
Senior Salute
Senior Salute will be held Monday and Tuesday, March 25 and 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Boitnott Room. All graduating seniors will receive a letter from Jostens in late February or early March with additional information regarding Senior Salute.
The following will be participating in Senior Salute:
- Jostens – Jostens will be on hand for cap and gown pick-up and will also be able to help with ordering graduation announcements, class rings, etc.
- Office of the Registrar – The registrar will be available to answer any questions regarding graduation requirements and eligibility
- Career Services – Career Services will offer resume assistance and help with job searches
- Alumni Relations – Alumni Relations will assist seniors with alumni registration
- Ripples – Bridgewater College’s yearbook staff will be available for seniors to reserve yearbooks
The cost of the cap and gown is included as a “graduation fee” on your college billing statement. This also includes the cost of your diploma.
Rehearsal
Commencement rehearsal will be held on Tuesday, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Nininger Hall. During rehearsal, graduates will receive additional information regarding Baccalaureate and Commencement events, have a cap and gown demonstration, practice forming the processional and receive instructions for Commencement, have the opportunity to clarify name pronunciation for the vice president and dean for academic affairs and pick up reserved seating tickets.
Following rehearsal, reserved seating tickets will be taken to the Information Desk in the Kline Campus Center. If you are unable to make it to rehearsal, you will need to pick up your tickets from that location.
Rehearsal is mandatory – if you cannot attend, you will need to let academic affairs know.
Senior Formal
The 2013 Senior Formal will be held on Thursday, May 16 at the Alumni Relations house. There will be a DJ and dancing from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m., with a sparkling cider toast at 9:13 p.m. Seniors will be admitted free and can bring one guest for $25.

Honor Cords
Seniors will be able to pick up their honor cords from the Registrar’s Office on Friday, May 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Group Photo
A group photo of the Class of 2013 will be taken at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the football stadium. Seniors need to arrive for the photo at 8:45.
