Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA) Paper test registration fee: $40 Computer test registration fee: $50 Reading subtest: $40 Writing subtest: $40 All applicants to Teacher Education Program Reading Subtest: 26 of 35 (scaled socre 235); Writing Subtest: 29 of 41 on multiple choice and sentence correction and 29 of 40 on writing assignments (scaled score 235); Composite scaled score 470 Must pass prior to being admitted to BC Teacher Education Program Best to take as early as possible.
Praxis: Core Academic Skills for Educators: Mathematics (5732)] $85 each for standalone tests All applicants to Teacher Education Program 150 May be exempted with SAT score of 530 or ACT score of 22 in Math. Must pass prior to being admitted to BC Teacher Education Program As early as possible.
Praxis: Core Academic Skills for Educators (5751): Reading [taken concurrently with the other two Praxis Core Academic Skills tests.
If the Reading test is not passed, it may be retaken as a standalone test. (5712)]

Praxis Elementary Education: Content Knowledge (Paper—0014; Computer—5014) 115 All TEP candidates seeking licensure with a preK-6 endorsement Scaled score 143 Must take prior to student teaching; must pass in order to obtain licensure with preK-6 endorsement Best to take this test before it becomes obsolete on June 30, 2014 and is replaced by the Praxis Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects tests
Praxis Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5031)-- [taken concurrently with the other three Praxis Elementary Education tests. If you do not pass the one of the subject area test, then you can retake it as a standalone test (Reading and Language Arts: 5032; Mathematics: 5033; Social Studies: 5031; Science: 5035).] $150 for Multiple Subjects Test; $50 for each standalone test All TEP candidates seeking licensure with a preK-6 endorsement 46 of 65 (scaled score 165) Must take prior to student teaching; must pass in order to obtain licensure with preK-6 endorsement For those not passing the Praxis Elementary Education Content Knowledge test, take as soon as possible after July 1, 2014
Praxis Series Reading for Virginia Educators (RVE) (Paper-0306; Computer-5306) Paper - $80; Computer - $130 All TEP candidates seeking licensure with a preK-6 endorsement Scaled score 157 Must take prior to student teaching; must pass in order to obtain licensure with preK-6 endorsement After completing EDUC 330 and EDUC 332
Praxis Middle School Content Knowledge (tests vary with content—click on link above for information on DOE website) Varies: Generally $115 All TEP candidates seeking licensure with an endorsement in certain Middle Education content topics Varies by content Must take prior to student teaching; must pass in order to obtain licensure with endorsement in a 6-8 content area Prior to senior year at BC (transfer students during 3rd semester)
