Teaches music theory, composition, and applied piano and organ.

Dr. Larry Taylor is associate professor of music at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia where he teaches piano, organ, music theory and the history of American music. He also serves as music director at Luray United Methodist Church. The choir at Luray UMC has given performances of two Christmas cantatas composed by Dr. Taylor, and his staged song cycle Marie Curie (text by Tom Noe) was premiered in 2009 by Dr. Dorothy Maddison. His latest composition, the opera Eros and Psyche (with libretto by Tom Noe), had its first performance at Bridgewater College in 2011. In addition to solo recitals on piano and organ, Larry has arranged and performed accompaniments on organ for the silent films The Gold Rush and One Week.

Dr. Christine Ennis Carrillo is the director of instrumental music and director of bands at Bridgewater College where she directs the Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Screamin' Eagle Pep Band.  She also teaches courses in music education, conducting and applied trumpet lessons. Dr. Carrillo has previously served on the faculties of James Madison University, Texas A&M University-Kingsville (where she was a two-time recipient of the Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Award), The Victoria College and the Austin Independent School District.  Dr. Carrillo has adjudicated festivals and contests at all levels from high school to college in Illinois, Texas, Virginia, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. As a Conn-Selmer trumpet artist, Dr. Carrillo has given performances at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the City Recital Hall Angel Place in Sydney, Australia.

Dr. John McCarty is an assistant professor of music and the director of choral music at Bridgewater College, where he conducts the Bridgewater Concert Choir, Bridgewater Chorale, Bridgewater Oratorio Choir, and teaches courses in music history and conducting. As a choral singer, he performed with VocalEssence (Minneapolis, MN), under the direction of Phillip Brunelle, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra Chorale (St. Paul, MN), under the direction of Dr. Dale Warland. Dr. McCarty's conducting teachers include Dr. Angela Broeker, Prof. Kathy Saltzman Romey, Dr. Matthew Mehaffey, and Dr. Jo-Anne van der Vat-Chromy. He is currently the music director at Clover Hill United Methodist Church (Dayton, VA), the conductor of the Page County Community Choir (Luray, VA), and the conductor of the Main Street Singers (Luray, VA). Dr. McCarty’s research interests include composer Christoph Graupner, a contemporary of J. S. Bach, and the stile galant.
