Music Student Organizations
National Association for Music Education (NAfME)
NAfME (National Association for Music Education) is one of the world’s largest arts education organizations. The mission of NAfME is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all.
As a college with an approved music education-licensing program, Bridgewater College has a collegiate chapter of NAfME. The BC chapter provides members with opportunities to enhance their education, fulfill PDP hours, and to have some fun as well. Please contact us if you want to know more.
For more information on the national NAfME organization, visit nafme.org. The site includes job information, numerous resources and a special collegiate section.
Our chapter of NAfME has sponsored events such as Orff workshops, music technology workshops, trips to V.M.E.A conventions, "Elementary School Day" when teachers from local schools teach lessons and then explain how they plan lessons and the methods they use, activities for "Music in Our Schools" month, and mock interviews.
