Concert Choir
Large choral ensemble. Performances on campus throughout the year. Regional touring in the spring.
Chorale
24-voice, select ensemble. Audition required. Members of the Chorale are also members of the Concert Choir. Performances on campus throughout the year. Regional touring in the spring.
Oratorio Choir
Large choral ensemble open to all students and other members of the BC community. No audition required. Rehearsals and concert in the fall semester.
Gospel Choir
Gospel Choir is a student-directed group focused on the uplifting messages found in gospel music. Open to all students.
Meridiane Ensemble
The Meridiane Ensemble is a thrilling vocal chamber ensemble that has established an inspiring mission to the performance of culturally-relevant programs of contemporary composers.
A Cappella Ensembles
Student-run a cappella ensembles specializing in popular song arrangements sung without instrumental accompaniment.
Instrumental Ensembles
Symphonic Band
Large wind and percussion ensemble plays concert repertory. No audition required.
Jazz Ensemble
Performs traditional jazz, music of the big bands and progressive jazz. Audition required.
Chamber Strings
Small chamber orchestra that rehearses and performs a wide variety of string literature. No audition required.
Pep Band
Open to all students. Plays at home basketball games, providing spirited music for Eagles fans and cheerleaders.
Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band
The Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band brings the hype to BC. Perform at home football games, travel to some away games, join in Homecoming week events and participate in local parades and festivals.
Handbell Choir
Four octaves of bells and five octaves of chimes. Student-directed.
Jazz Combo
Multiple jazz combos focusing on improvisation, jazz forms and history. All instrumentalists are invited to join. No audition required.
Chamber Music Ensembles
Small ensembles formed to accommodate special musical interests.
National Association for Music Education (NAfME)
NAfME (National Association for Music Education) is one of the world’s largest arts education organizations. Join the Bridgewater College chapter of NAfME to enhance your education.
We have recently sponsored events such as music technology workshops, trips to the state convention, an “Elementary School Day” in which teachers from local schools explain their lesson plans and methods, activities for “Music in Our Schools” month, and mock interviews.
