International Convocations

International convocations at Bridgewater College invigorate connections between the local community and the global community. In order to facilitate this, Bridgewater College schedules a variety of programs, including films, speakers, presentations, and travel experiences are offered, and these programs deal with a plethora of important social issues.

Global Café

Offers an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to engage in civic discourse about broad international issues while sharing meals that relate to the chosen topic or to the participants' background. Participants share their own knowledge, experiences, and viewpoints in order to give the other participants a better understanding of how people with different cultural backgrounds come to understand and act on matters that affect people globally. Global Café is an initiative of Veritas, the Center for Cultural Engagement, and the Center for International Education.

International Festival

Bridgewater has a long tradition of involvement with the Harrisonburg International Festival. Students can volunteer to run a booth, assist in set up, participate in one of the many cultural outreach activities, or just enjoy this day-long celebration of cultural diversity!
