BC Students To Present Performance Festival | ||
|
BRIDGEWATER, Va. Bridgewater College will present a Student Performance Festival Thursday - Sunday, April 24 - 27, in Cole Hall. Three one-act performances are set for 8 p.m. Thursday - Saturday, April 24 - 26, with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 27. Tickets are $6 for adults; $5 for seniors and non-BC students. Reservations may be made by calling 540-828-8000. "Found in Grace," a one-act play written and directed by Robert Ferguson, a freshman biology major from Salem, Va., is about six people who fall sleep in a troubled world and awaken on a metaphysical island. Thrown together, each is forced to confront the core of their respective problems, and with assistance, work through them. Actors for "Found in Grace" include: Oluwasegun Nick Akintola, a freshman mathematics major, from Woodbridge, Va.; Alyssa Franklin, a French and history double major, from Rexville, N.Y.; Chris Gallagher, a freshman history and political science major, from Stanley, Va.; Ryan Howard, a senior communication studies major with a minor in theatre, from Petersburg, W.Va.; Rebecca Polk, a sophomore family and consumer sciences major, from Edinburg, Va.; Courtney Anne Shackelford, a freshman business administration major, from Keswick, Va.; and Stephanie N. Weaver, a freshman mathematics and Spanish double major, from Rising Sun, Md. Jen Greenholt, a senior English major with minors in international studies and communication studies from Yadkinville, N.C., and Sarah M. Willard-Eroh, a sophomore biology major from King George, Va., will direct a one-act play, "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls" by Christopher Durang. The play is a slapstick parody of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie. Cast members include seniors Julia Stutzman, a biology and environmental science double major, from Bridgewater, Va.; Patrick J. Gurney, a sociology major with a minor in crime and justice, from Richmond, Va.; Justin Knight, an international studies and Spanish double major, from Rockville, Md.; and Megan E. Hiatt, a biology and sociology double major with a minor in theatre, from Virginia Beach, Va. Jennifer M. Payne, a junior English major with a minor in English from Frederick, Md., will direct Bridgewater's campus chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, a national theatre honor fraternity, in a | ||

Bridgewater College, a private, four-year liberal arts college, enrolls more than 1,500 students.
