Moye to Speak on 'Role of Transportation in Virginia'

Arthur W. Moye Jr., executive vice president of the Virginia Maritime Association, will present “From Sea to Shelf, Transportation is the Key” at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

Moye will speak on the importance and role of transportation in Virginia and internationally.

Moye also serves as the executive vice president of the Hampton Roads Shipping Association, whose purpose is to negotiate and maintain the collective bargaining agreement with the International Longshoremen’s Association. He also served as an officer and director for both organizations during his 30 years in the maritime. 

He is a commissioner for the Virginia Offshore Wind Development Authority and is co-chair of the Freight Transportation Advisory Committee, a sub-committee of the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization.
