The former fiancée of murdered U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens will address "The Benghazi Question" at Bridgewater College on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Hall.

Lydie Denier, a French film star and high-fashion model, was engaged to Stevens for a short time in 1995. The couple never married, but Denier maintained close ties to Stevens and was outraged when he and three other Americans were murdered in 2012 during a terrorist attack on two U.S. government facilities in Libya.

Also murdered in the attacks were information management officer Sean Smith and CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. Ten others were wounded.

Born in France and raised in Martinique, Denier became a model at 14, appearing in magazines such as Vogue and ELLE, among others. She also secured a record deal at the age of 16 with Polygram. In 1988 she made her first feature film appearance in the United States in Bulletproof, and went on to act in a number of television series including General Hospital, The Flash and The Ellen Burstyn Show.

In 1991, Denier was cast as Jane Porter for the Tarzan television series, which led to roles in Wild Orchid II, Two Shades of Blue, The Red Shoe Diaries and The New Adventures of Robin Hood.

She continues to appear in films and television shows.

The program at Bridgewater College is free and open to the public.
