Jeffery Stockberger Exhibits Paintings in Miller Art Gallery Feb. 6 - March 3

Jeffery Stockberger, an artist from Port Republic, Va., will present “Paintings” in the Cleo Driver Miller Art Gallery at Bridgewater College Feb. 6 – March 3.
An artist’s reception will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, with an artist’s talk at 5:30 p.m. Both events will be in the Miller Art Gallery. The talk, reception and exhibition are open to the public at no charge.
Stockberger works out of his studio in Port Republic. He also teaches at the Beverley Street Studio School in Staunton, Va.
Through his work, Stockberger explores the interaction of commonplace objects and figures with their environment.
Through the use of multiple paint layers, the images change daily and are constantly being reworked.
His work has been published in Southern Accents magazine, The Washington Post and Traditional Home magazine.
Stockberger graduated from James Madison University with a degree in painting and art history. He studied figure painting at the Corcoran Museum College of Art and Design.
The Miller Gallery is located on the second floor of the Alexander Mack Memorial Library. The Gallery is open 8 a.m. to midnight Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 11 p.m. Sunday.
