Bridgewater College Music Faculty to Present Recital Feb. 26

Dr. Christine Carrillo, assistant professor of music at Bridgewater College, will present a trumpet recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music on the college campus.

In addition to Carrillo, the program features Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music, on piano and Christine’s husband, Dr. Chris Carrillo, associate professor of music at James Madison University, on flugelhorn for Astor Piazolla’s Oblivion.

A special feature of the recital is a premier performance of Sonata for Flugelhorn and Piano by Carson Cooman. This work was commissioned by a consortium of four collegiate trumpet professors of which Carrillo is a member.

The recital also includes Sonate en Do Majeur by J.B. Loeillet, Legend by Georges Enesco and Concert Etude by Alexander Goedicke.

The recital is free and open to the public.
