BC Seniors Recognized for Excellence in Computer Science and Mathematics

Two seniors, Trevor Rush Bostic and Matthew Wampler, were recognized for excellence during the college awards ceremony at Bridgewater College.

The department of mathematics and computer science presented the Outstanding Senior in Computer Science to Bostic and the Outstanding Senior in Mathematics to Wampler.

Bostic, a computer science major with a minor in math, is the son of Darren and Betzi Bostic of Broadway, Va. Bostic is member of Alpha Chi, a national scholastic honor society, and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).

Wampler, a physics and mathematics double major with a minor in music, is the son of Drs. G. Ben and Sherrie K. Wampler of Nokesville, Va. Wampler is a member of the Philomathes Society, Bridgewater’s scholastic honor society; Alpha Chi; Sigma Pi Sigma, a national physics honor society; and Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.

Both Bostic and Wampler are members of the college’s Flory Honors Program.

Bostic is a computer scientist with The MITRE Corporation in McLean, Va. Wampler will pursue a Ph.D. in theoretical physics at the University of Virginia.
