Rabbi Joe Blair to Speak at Bridgewater College Dec. 3

Rabbi Joe Blair, a full-time pulpit rabbi serving congregations in Harrisonburg and Staunton, Va., will speak on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Bridgewater College.
Blair will speak on “Isn’t Chanukah the Jewish Christmas?” at 7 p.m. in the Boitnott Room.
In his role as a rabbi, Blair works with a variety of people and organizations who have different religious, social, cultural and philosophical viewpoints and beliefs. He is involved with interfaith programs, where he helps people understand each other better.
He has served as vice president and president of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County Interfaith Association.
Blair is an adjunct professor of philosophy and religion at Bridgewater College. He serves as a guest lecturer at a number of venues, including Blue Ridge Community College, Eastern Mennonite University, James Madison University, Mary Baldwin University, Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University. He also serves as an instructor with the JMU Lifelong Learning Institute and the University of Virginia’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Blair earned B.A. and M.C.S degrees from UVA, a J.D. from the College of William and Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law and an M.H.L.in Hebrew Letters and Ordination from Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
