Making a Gift to Bridgewater College

Gifts to Bridgewater College from alumni, friends, parents and companies are a vote of confidence in our institutional mission of educating the whole person. These commitments strengthen an academic community whose core values are integrity, equality, service and community.

In order to qualify as a contribution for the College’s fiscal year, the gift must have a transaction date and time before midnight (Eastern Daylight Time) on June 30. To qualify as a taxable contribution for the calendar year, it must be made before midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on December 31.

A staff member can assist you with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit card gift, by calling 1-800-476-4289, ext. 5448, or 828-5448 if you are local. Or please make your gift online.

The gift date is the card transaction date. Credit card gifts that are mailed through the postal service must be received (postmark date cannot be used) in the office of institutional advancement in time to allow for processing during normal business hours.

Matching Gifts

Many companies match contributions to Bridgewater College. To find out if you are eligible, check with your company's human resources or payroll office.

Stocks and Securities

Many of the College's supporters choose to make charitable gifts of securities to Bridgewater College, because such gifts can provide much-needed resources for the College and possibly reduce personal capital gains or estate taxes for the donor.

You, your broker, or financial advisor should contact the office of institutional advancement at Bridgewater College with the following information:

In a separate envelope, send a signed stock power (available from BC or from your financial services provider), to the same address. 

The gift date is the date the donor transfers the certificate and stock power to the College’s representative. If sent through the postal service, the certificate and stock power must be mailed in separate envelopes. If they are mailed on separate dates, the gift date will be the date of the later envelope.
