Kenneth R. Feinberg, former special master of the federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2011, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Working pro bono for 33 months, he developed the regulations governing the administration of the fund and administered all aspects of the program.

Following the 2007 Virginia Tech mass shooting, Feinberg became administrator of the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, set up for the benefit of victims’ families.

Feinberg currently serves as the government-appointed administrator of the BP Deepwater Horizon Disaster Victim Compensation Fund.

He is the author of two books, Who Gets What: Fair Compensation after Tragedy and Financial Upheaval and What is Life Worth? The Unprecedented Effort to Compensate the Victims of 9/11.

Feinberg is founder and managing partner of Feinberg Rozen LLP, a law firm that specializes in mediation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

After receiving a law degree from New York University’s School of Law in 1970, Feinberg worked for five years as an administrative assistant and chief of staff for Senator Edward M. Kennedy and as an assistant United States attorney.

Sponsored by the Anna B. Mow Endowed Lecture Series, the program is open to the public at no charge.
