Kori Feener’s documentary, Hard Way Home, will be screened at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College. Feener will respond to questions from the audience following the film.
In Hard Way Home, Feener shares her six-month journey as she struggles physically and emotionally to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.
The documentary earned Best Feature at the Chattanooga Film Festival and premiered to a sold-out crowd at the Virginia Film Festival in 2013.
Feener is an award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Massachusetts. Her short and feature works focus on stories about inspiring individuals at odds against larger forces.
Feener’s works have been shown at many film festivals. Mission: Sneak, a short children’s narrative film she produced, wrote and shot, screened at schools in India for the World Kids Foundation.
She currently works as media arts faculty at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She earned her M.F.A. in media art from Emerson College and her B.A. in film and media arts from the University of Tampa.
The event is free and open to the public.
