Wesley Dunlap to Present Senior Organ Recital

Wesley Dunlap, a senior music major at Bridgewater College, will present an organ recital on Monday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren located at 420 College View Drive.
For his recital, Dunlap will perform “Toccata in E Minor” and “Fugue in D Minor” by Johann Pachelbel and “Antiphon V: How Fair and How Pleasant Art Thou” by Marcel Dupré.
Dunlap also will play “Après un réve” from After a Dream by Gabriel Fauré and “Méditation” from Thaïs by Jules Massenet.
The recital includes the Christmas carols “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Silent Night, Holy Night” and “Joy to the World.”
The program ends with a Christmas Suite by Wilbur Held including “Good Christian Men, Rejoice,” “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and “God Rest You Merry.”
The audience will be invited to sing along on some of the carols.
Kyle Remnant, a 2012 Bridgewater College graduate from Bridgewater, Va., will accompany Dunlap on trombone for several pieces.
At Bridgewater, Dunlap studies organ under Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music. He is a member of the Bridgewater Chorale, the Concert Choir and the Oratorio Choir.
Dunlap is the son of Bobby and Lisa Dunlap from Mount Crawford, Va.
