Bridgewater College will present “A Collage” concert on Sunday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in the Carter Center for Worship and Music. It is free and open to the public.
The concert includes a variety of ensembles from Bridgewater College performing well-known jazz, gospel and popular music. Among the pieces are “Take the ‘A’ Train” by Billy Strayhorn, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley and “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” by George and Ira Gershwin.
The concert includes the Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Christine Carrillo, assistant professor of music and director of instrumental music.
The College Chorale and the Concert Choir will perform under the direction of Dr. John McCarty, assistant professor of music and director of choral music.
The program also includes the A Cappella Choir under the direction of Katelyn Hallock, a senior music major, and Jordan M. Haugh, a junior music major, both from Frederick, Md.
The Gospel Choir will also perform under the direction of Rianna Hill, a senior English and communication studies double major, from Richmond, Va.
