Jonathan Greer and Miranda Fitzgerald to Give Junior Recital
Bridgewater College music majors Jonathan Greer of Staunton, Va., and Miranda L. Fitzgerald of Verona, Va., will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.
For his tenor voice recital, Greer will perform “Deh, vieni alla finestra” from Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Mozart and two pieces by Roger Quilter, “O Mistress Mine” and “Come Away, Death.”
He also will sing “Sonntag” by Johannes Brahms, “Wandrers Nachtlied II” by Franz Schubert and “For the Mountains Shall Depart” from Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn.
A special feature of the recital will be a duet, “Panis Angelicus” by César Franck, performed by Greer and soprano Bethanie Glover of Waynesboro, Va.
Fitzgerald will present a voice and saxophone recital. She will sing “Ave Maria” by Franz Schubert and “Quella fiamma” by Francesco Conti.
Fitzgerald will perform “Sonata No. 4” by J.S. Bach and “Chanson et Passepied” by Jeanine Rueff on the alto saxophone.
Greer and Fitzgerald will be accompanied on piano by Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music at Bridgewater College.
At Bridgewater College, Greer and Fitzgerald study voice under Shannon Kiser, adjunct instructor in music. Fitzgerald studies saxophone under Brett Kirby, adjunct instructor in music. Both musicians are members of the College Chorale and the Concert Choir.
Fitzgerald is a member of the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Ensemble. She also performs with a saxophone quartet.
