Zachary Haga and Loganne Fellenstein to Give Recital at BC
Zachary Haga will present a senior voice recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.
The program also includes Loganne Fellenstein in her junior voice recital.
For his baritone recital, Haga will perform “Non più andrai” from The Marriage of Figaro by W. A. Mozart, “Bella siccome un angelo” from Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti and two pieces by Gabriel Fauré, “Après un rêve” and “Ici-bas.” He also will sing “An die Musik by Franz Schubert and “Erlkönig” by Wolfgang von Goethe.
Haga’s recital also includes “The Dodger” by Aaron Copland, “Loveliest of Trees” by John Duke and “Once a lady was here” by Paul Bowles.
Haga, a senior music major from Quinton, Va., serves as a student assistant in the music department.
For her mezzo-soprano recital, Fellenstein will perform “Beau Soir” by Claude Debussy, “Hark! What I Tell to Thee” by Joseph Haydn and “Cangio d’aspetto” by G.F. Handel. She also will perform “Die Mainacht” and “Vergebliches Ständchen by Johannes Brahms, as well as “Esurientes implevit” from Magnificat by Antonio Vivaldi and “Bereite dich, Zion” from Weihnacts-Oratorium by J.S. Bach.
Fellenstein’s recital also includes “Where the Music Comes From” by Lee Hoiby, “The Daisies” by Samuel Barber and “O, My Deir Hert” by Herbert Howells.
At Bridgewater, Fellenstein, a senior music major from Fredericksburg, Va., is a member of a string quartet and the “Outspoken” worship band.
Haga and Fellenstein will be accompanied by Lacey Johnson, adjunct instructor in music, on piano. Both musicians study voice under Shannon Kiser, adjunct instructor of music, and are members of the Bridgewater College Chorale, the Concert Choir and the Handbell Choir.
