Sarah Evans Receives 2015 English Award

The Outstanding Senior Award in English was presented to Sarah K. Evans.

The award included a certificate and a cash gift. The recipient is selected based on excellence in work performed in the English major.

Evans, an English major, is from Staunton, Va.

She is a member of the Philomathes Society, Bridgewater’s scholastic honor society, and serves as vice president of the campus chapter of Alpha Chi, a national scholastic honor society.

Evans completed an honors project, “Exposing the Naked Soul: A Critical Examination and Practice in Writing Creative Nonfiction.”

She serves as head copy editor and a writer for Veritas, the student-run newspaper and is a contributor for BC Spark Radio, the student-run Internet radio station.

Evans will graduate on May 16. In the fall, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in publishing from The George Washington University.
