student employment positions
Grounds - Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of College grounds to include: mowing, weed- eating, watering plants, etc.
Wellness Center - Duties include: Greeting guests entering and exiting the building, scanning ID cards, answering phone calls, assisting patrons with equipment and cleaning exercise equipment.
Telecounselor - Responsible for contacting prospective students to answer questions they may have, inform them of upcoming events on campus, encourage them to visit campus, and to complete their application.
Athletics - Duties could include: game management, painting fields, time-keeper, announcing games, score board operator, line judge, book keeper, and/or general office work.
Admissions - Main responsibility will be data entry/computer work. Other tasks will be: preparing mass mailings, answering phones, filing, some interaction with prospective families, and additional office duties as needed.
Lifeguard - Enforces pool rules and regulations, completes water readings, collects pool fees, checks IDs, records attendance, and responds to emergency situations in the swimming pool or deck area. Administers first aid and CPR/AED as needed. Must be certified.
Equestrian Center - Responsible for assisting with the care of horses to include, feeding, turning out, mucking stalls, occasionally assisting students with horses and helping keep up with the laundry duties at BCEC.
Library - Duties could include: Answering directional questions, referring patrons to library services, sorting materials, processing library materials, and filing shelf list cards.
Switchboard Operator - Answer and direct calls, field questions and give directions to guests.
Technical Support - Assist with room setup for College events, operate sound equipment for events, and assist in the day to day operations.
Phonathon - Responsible for calling alumni and parents to share news and information regarding upcoming events, update contact information and solicit support of current students by making a gift to the Bridgewater Fund. This is an evening shift position.
* America Reads - Students work in a classroom at a local elementary school either reading to an individual student or a group of students.
* Off-campus - Students represent Bridgewater College by working for an off campus non-profit organization. In previous years our students have worked with Skyline Literacy, United Way, North River Library and Bridgewater Retirement Community Center.
Post Office - Responsible for daily mail room duties, including, but not limited to: placement of mail, assisting with package pick-up, and metering outgoing mail.
Clerical - Responsible for supporting various offices by performing one or more of the following duties: answering the phone, making copies, sending faxes, data entry and other clerical duties as assigned.
