Break Housing Information
Should a student wish to stay during part of or all of a break period, they will need to complete a request to reside on campus during breaks form and submit it to the department of student life, located on the second floor of Rebecca Hall, by the provided deadline for each break listed below. These forms will be reviewed by the department of student life and the student will be notified, via email, if their request has been approved or denied. Please note, forms will not be accepted for Christmas break as no student will be permitted to reside on campus during that break period.
Official College Breaks
Fall Break - 10/12/12 (beginning after last class)
Form Deadline: 10/5/12
All residential areas are closed from 10/12/12 at 6 p.m. to 10/16/12 at 1 p.m.
Thanksgiving Break - 11/20/12 (beginning after last class) to 11/26/12
Form Deadline: 11/13/12
All residential facilities are closed from 11/20/12 at 6 p.m. to 11/25/12 at 1 p.m.
Christmas Break - 12/7/12 (beginning after the last final exam) to 1/3/13
No request forms accepted
All residential facilities are closed from 12/8/12 at 10 a.m. to 1/2/13 at 1 p.m.
Spring Break - 03/08/13 (beginning after last class) to 3/18/13
Form Deadline: 03/1/13
All residential facilities are closed from 3/8/13 at 6 p.m. to 3/17/13 at 1 p.m.
Easter Break - 3/28/13 (beginning after last class) to 4/2/13
Form Deadline: 3/21/13
All Residential facilities are closed from 3/28/13 at 6 p.m. to 4/1/13 at 1 p.m.
Dining halls will not be open during official college breaks.
Note: The department of student life will work in conjunction with the athletic and education departments to ensure all housing needs for appropriate in-season student-athletes/trainers and student teachers are met during break periods (excluding Christmas break as students will not be permitted to reside on campus during this break). In-season student athletes/trainers and current student teachers do not need to complete a request form as lists will be acquired from the appropriate departments.
