Air Conditioner Guidelines for Residence Halls

These residence halls are centrally air-conditioned:

  • Blue Ridge (coed)
  • Geisert (female)
  • Wakeman (male)
  • Wright Hall & Link Housing (coed)
  • Stone Village & Wampler Towers (upper-classmen only)
    If you will be living in a building without central air and require an air-conditioned environment due to medical reasons, fill out the air conditioner request form, give it to your medical practitioner, and have him/her mail or fax a short explanation of why you must have an air conditioner in your room:

Requirements for air conditioners:

  • Must be a small portable window unit
  • Between 5000-8000 BTUs
  • 115 volts
  • Have a top window skirt (metal support to attach unit to window)
  • A non-refundable $120 annual fee will be charged to your account for this service.

*Note: Window air conditioners must be installed only by the maintenance and facilities crews. Improper installation may not only result in damage to the window and air conditioner, but may cause personal injury, as well. You will be notified when your completed request form is received and approved, and your A/C should be installed.
