Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, INC (CHCI) Internship Program

Institute for International Public Policy (IIPP) Fellowship Program
Three programs: The Sophomore Summer Policy Institute, Junior Year Study Abroad, and Junior Summer Policy Institute. SSPI is hosted by Howard University and is seven weeks. Completing the SSPI, the JYSA is a study abroad program for a semester overseas. The last stage is the JSPI where students attend the University of Maryland's School of Public Policy.

Institute for Responsible Citizenship (IRC) Summer Programs

Latinas Learning to Lead- Summer Youth Institute
Session topics include effective communication and presentation skills, public policy issues affecting the Latino community, and other professional and leadership development topics, such as a Clifton StrengthsFinder session at Gallup University, financial literacy, and a technology component. 22 selected annually.

Leadership in Action Program

Minority Scholarship Program
Consists of three elements designed to increase students' interest in the environmental profession and to support them in defining career goals. $5,000 in tuition scholarship, an optional paid summer internship at a Brown and Caldwell office, and a dedicated mentor to guide the intern through the company's information and communications resources.

Mississippi Teacher Corps Program (MTC)
Two-year program that recruits, trains, and supports non-education majors to teach in high-poverty public schools in Mississippi. While teaching each participant earns a master's degree in education from the University of Mississippi and receives training and support from MTC.

Movement Activist Apprenticeship Program (MAAP)
8-weeks in Oakland, CA. Intensive training program for developing skills and experience in organizing. 5-day training and orientation session followed by field placements.

Multicultural Advertising Training (M.A.T.) Program
13-weeks. Experience, develop within and, at the end of the day, diversify the advertising industry. Paid $9 p/hr.

Multicultural Arts Management Internship Program

Native American Internship Awards

National Science Foundation and Department of Defense (NSF/DoD) Program in Applied Psychology
40 hours/week of paid work. Research, course meetings, informal presentations, and a mini-conference containing student, faculty, and invited presentations. Effective student projects may qualify for partial funding for student travel for presentation at regional and national conferences during the following academic year.

Nuclear Age Peace Foundation Internships
Intern projects are customized depending on the individual's interests and the Foundation's needs in 4 general programs areas: research, outreach, web development, and communications. The stipend for full-time summer interns is $3,200 for a 10-week internship.

Oceanography Fellows for Minority Undergraduates
All fellows are expected to work on a project selected in collaboration with their sponsor(s) that will provide meaningful results in one summer's work. Research topics span a vast spectrum of topics throughout WHOI's science departments,  and the Woods Hole Field Station of the United State Geological Survey (USGS). Minority Fellowships may be awarded for a ten- to twelve-week period in the summer or for a semester during the academic year.

Project IMHOTEP: A Cooperative Summer Program in Public Health
11-week internship designed to increase the knowledge and skills of rising juniors and seniors and recent graduates of an undergraduate institution in biostatistics, epidemiology, and occupational safety and health.

Project L/EARN
10 week intensive internship opportunity for students who would like to obtain research skills and "hands-on" experience in health services research under the guidance of a distinguished faculty mentor. Each intern will be matched with a faculty mentor whose work is most closely aligned with his or her particular interests, skills, and background.

Ralph Bunche Summer Institute
Each summer, the Institute gives 20 students a look at the world of graduate study with a program of two transferable credit courses, one in quantitative analysis and one in race and American politics, to introduce the intellectual demands of graduate school and political science research methods.  Held at Duke University.

Short Term Training Program to Increase Diversity in Health-Related Careers (STREAMS)
Students spend 80 percent of their time in the program doing laboratory research under the supervision of a faculty mentor. The goals are to encourage members of underrepresented minority groups and students with disabilities to pursue careers in biomedical research and to provide a stimulating summer experience which will enhance the students' academic and personal development.

Southeast Asia Studies Summer Institute (SEASSI) Heritage Language Program and awards
The University of California, San Diego Summer Training Academy for Research in the Sciences (STARS) program is an eight week summer research academy for undergraduate students, recent graduates, and master's students. The goal of the academy is to increase the numbers of underrepresented students with research experience and prepare participants for doctoral study.

Summer Humanities Institute
Eight-week preparatory program is designed to enhance the competencies of students who plan to pursue an MA or Ph.D. in the humanities or humanistic social sciences. With the help of a faculty mentor (selected by the Program), students take seminars and workshops, go on field trips, write a research paper and present a conference paper.

Students are matched with NYU faculty, graduate students or postdoctoral fellow, work on individual projects in Neural Science laboratories based on ongoing research at the center.
